LETTER OF STATEMENT
INDONESIAN MOSLEM STUDENT ASSOCIATION IN TAIWAN
Bismillahirrahmanirrrahim
(In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious and Most Merciful)
Assalamu alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh
Thanks and praise may always be offered into Allah, SWT whom gives all of his bless, mercy, and favor which made all of the human beings can still feel the togetherness and friendship.
As one of the religion which is followed by more than 1.4 million people in the world, Islam comes with perfect taught and doctrine. In Islam, there are lots of things that regulate the life of human beings, from the way of doing worship into daily activities such as how to eat or how to sleep.
Include in one of the taught of Islam is to spread love and kindness throughout to world to all of the human kinds, not only among the Moslem, but also with other believers with different religion. Islam even taught to always be kind do affection even to the enemy, and always treat them with justice and fairness. We can find it in the holy book, Al-Quran, at surah Al-Mumtahinah (60) verse 8
Allah forbiddeth you not those who warred not against you on account of religion and drove you not out from your homes, that ye should show them kindness and deal justly with them. Lo! Allah loveth the just dealers (Quran 60:8)
We can also find the eminence of Islam to do kindness and love not only in the holy Qur’an, but also in lots of hadit from Rasusullah, Prophet Mohammed, SAW.
Love the others like how you love yourselves” (Hadith Bukhari)
There will be no place in heaven except for those who are merciful” (Hadith Anas and Baihaqi)
Unfortunately, there are lots of wrong depictions of Islam. One of the most new problems about this is the short movie titled “FITNA” which is made by Geert Wilders, one of the members of Dutch Parliament.
There are so many verses of Qur’an which is translated wrong and carelessly in this movie which is not proper with what is the right one in Qur’an. For example, the verses about jihad are translated so it seems that Moslem can kill everyone which is not the believers of Islam. This movie also shows the violence and brutality which is condemned in the name of Islam, and made Islam seems to be a brutal, harsh, and cruel religion. This is absolutely wrong and it is not the taught of Islam. Moreover from 99 good names of Allah (The Asmaul Husna), 2 of its are Ar-Rahman (The most gracious) and Ar-Rahim (the most merciful).It shows how Islam came into the world with love, peace and with mission to spread love, kindness, and affection throughout the world.
For that reason, related to the release of the movie “FITNA” which is worrying the Moslem all around the world and also deteriorating the relationship among believers of different religion in the world, we from Indonesian Moslem Student Association in Taiwan hereby issued our statement as follows.
| 1. | Hereby Regret and curse the release of the movie “FITNA” which is worrying and make worse of the view of Islam
| | 2. | Hereby requesting all of the country around the world not to show or spread this movie to avoid the possibility of conflict that may occur
| | 3. | Hereby demanding Mr. Geert Wilders and Miss Ayaan Hirsi Ali as the author of this movie to pull back this movie and apologize to all of the Moslem around the world
| | 4. | Hereby demanding the active support of Indonesian government with its strategic role in national and international to minimize the bad effect of this movie
| | 5. | Hereby beckon all of the Moslem around the world, especially in Indonesia, to avoid all of provocation that wants to force the misperception Islam and always think with common sense in behaving this problem.

SURAT PERNYATAAN
FORUM MAHASISWA MUSLIM INDONESIA DI TAIWAN
(FORMMIT)
Bismillahirrah manirrahim
(Dengan menyebut nama Allah yang Maha Pengasih dan Maha Penyayang)
Assalamu alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh
Puji dan syukur patutlah terus kita panjatkan kepada Allah, SWT karena atas berkat, rahmat, dan karunia-Nyalah kita semua umat manusia dan sesama ciptaan-Nya dapat merasakan indahnya kebersamaan antar sesama.
Sebagai salah satu agama yang dianut oleh kurang lebih 1,4 miliar orang di dunia, Islam hadir dengan ajaran yang sempurna. Di dalamnya tercakup segala hal yang mengatur kehidupan manusia, mulai dari tata cara beribadah, bermuamalah, maupun dalam urusan yang kecil seperti makan dan tidur.
Termasuk salah satu ajaran Islam adalah untuk menyebarkan kasih sayang kepada seluruh umat manusia, tidak hanya kepada sesama umat Islam saja. Bahkan kepada orang-orang diluar Islam. Islam bahkan mengajarkan untuk berbuat kasih sayang kepada orang-orang yang menjadi musuh kita dan tetap berbuat adil terhadap mereka. Hal ini termuat dalam kitab suci Al-Qur’anul Karim Surat Al-Mumtahinah ayat 8 yang kurang lebih berarti.
“Allah tiada melarang kamu untuk berbuat baik dan berlaku adil terhadap orang-orang yang tiada memerangimu karena agama dan tidak (pula) mengusir kamu dari negerimu. Sesungguhnya Allah menyukai orang-orang yang berlaku adil.” (QS. 60:8)
Selain itu dalam banyak hadits, Rasulullah, SAW, suri tauladan umat Islam memberikan banyak hadits yang menekankan pentingnya berkasih sayang.
"Cintailah manusia seperti kamu mencintai dirimu sendiri." (H.R. Bukhari)
"Tidak akan masuk surga kecuali orang yang penyayang" (H.R. Baihaki dan Anas)
"Janganlah kamu saling membenci, berdengki-dengkian, saling berpalingan, dan jadilah kamu sebagai hamba-hamba Allah yang bersaudara. Juga tidak dibolehkan seorang muslim meninggalkan (tidak bertegur sapa) terhadap sudaranya lewat tiga hari" HR. Muslim.
Sayangnya, begitu banyak penggambaran yang salah terhadap Islam. Salah satunya adalah film pendek berjudul FITNA yang dibuat oleh anggota parlemen Belanda bernama Geert Wilders. Begitu banyak ayat-ayat Al-Qur’an yang diartikan tidak sesuai maknanya dalam film itu. Ayat-ayat tentang jihad kemudian diartikan bahwa seorang muslim halal membunuh siapapun yang tidak beragama Islam. Selain itu film tersebut menunjukkan bentuk-bentuk kekerasan yang memojokkan umat Islam, seolah-olah Islam adalah agama yang bengis, kasar, kejam, dan mengajarkan kekerasan. Padahal itu tidaklah benar. Bahkan dari 99 nama Allah, SWT dua diantaranya adalah Ar – Rahman dan Ar – Rahim, Yang Maha Pengasih dan Maha Penyayang. Ini menunjukkan betapa Islam hadir bersama cinta, kasih sayang, dan kedamaian serta mengajarkan untuk menyebarkan kasih sayang kepada sesama manusia.
Oleh karena itu, berkaitan dengan terbitnya film FITNA yang sangat meresahkan umat Islam dan juga memperburuk hubungan antar umat beragama di dunia ini, kami dari FORUM MAHASISWA MUSLIM INDONESIA DI TAIWAN (FORMMIT) memberikan pernyataan sikap | 1. | Menyesalkan dan mengutuk keras terbitnya film FITNA yang cukup meresahkan dan memperburuk citra umat Islam tersebut | | 2. | Meminta kepada seluruh Negara-negara di dunia untuk tidak menayangkan atau menyebarkan film FITNA untuk mencegah potensi konflik yang mungkin timbul | | 3. | Menuntut Saudara Geert Wilders dan Saudara Ayaan Hirsi Ali sebagai pembuat film tersebut untuk menarik film FITNA dari peredaran dan memberikan permohonan maaf secara resmi kepada umat Islam di seluruh dunia | | 4. | Menghimbau peran aktif dari pemerintah Indonesia, baik yang bersifat nasional maupun interternasional, dalam mengurangi dampak negatif yang ditimbulkan oleh film FITNA sesuai dengan peran strategis yang dimilikinya | | 5. | Menghimbau umat Islam di seluruh dunia, khususnya di Indonesia, untuk tidak terpancing oleh provokasi maupun ulah-ulah pihak yang tidak bertanggung jawab yang ingin memojokkan umat Islam serta tetap berpikir jernih dan menggunakan cara-cara damai untuk menyelesaikan masalah ini |
Semoga solusi terbaik akan hadir untuk kebaikan umat Islam dan juga untuk eratnya hubungan antar umat beragama di dunia.
